Questa scultura rappresenta la Terra, uno dei cinque elementi che secondo Platone costituivano il nostro universo. Per fare questo lavoro mi sono ispirata agli arazzi di Depero, usando pannolenci di diverso colore cuciti insieme. Questo lavoro appartiene alla serie intitolata "Synthetic Worlds", in cui sono rappresentati mondi alternativi alla realtà.

This sculpture represents Earth, one of the five elements that according to Plato constituted our universe. To do this work I was inspired by Depero's tapestries, using soft-felt of different colour. This work belongs to a series entitled "Synthetic Worlds", in which are represented alternative worlds to reality.

Preparazione delle varie parti che compongono il rivestimento dell'ottaedro.

1. Insieme delle parti ritagliate.
2. Particolare di un settore ritagliato.
3. Cucitura delle parti di uno stesso settore.
4. Applicazione di un settore sopra l'ottaedro.


Preparation of the various parts that make up the covering of the octahedron..

1. Set of cut out parts.
2. Detail of a sector cut out.
3. Sewing of parts of the same sector.
4. Application of a sector over the octahedron.

Rivestimento dell'ottaedro con pannolenci bianco e  preparazione del disegno.

1. Cucitura a mano dei triangoli di pannolenci sull'ottaedro.
2. Ottaedro completamente rivestito.
3. Disegno delle parti su carta.
4. Smontaggio delle varie parti disegnate.

1. Hand sewing of the soft-felt triangles on the octahedron.
2. Octahedron completely covered.
3. Drawing of the parts on paper.
4. Disassembling of the various parts.

Tutte le fasi di costruzione dell'anima interna dell'ottaedro:

1. Taglio dei vari pannelli di legno con le zeppette di rinforzo.
2. Assemblaggio parziale con colla e chiodi delle parti.
3. Assemblaggio completo dell'Ottaedro.
4. Stesura della vernice di finitura per legno.


All phases of construction of the inner core of the octahedron:

1. Cut of the various wood panels with reinforcing shims.
2. Partial assembly with glue and nails of the parts.
3. Complete assembly of the octahedron.
4. Laying of the finishing paint for wood.
