Questa scultura rappresenta la Terra, uno dei cinque elementi che secondo Platone costituivano il nostro universo. Per fare questo lavoro mi sono ispirata agli arazzi di Depero, usando pannolenci di diverso colore cuciti insieme. Questo lavoro appartiene alla serie intitolata "Synthetic Worlds", in cui sono rappresentati mondi alternativi alla realtà.

This sculpture represents Earth, one of the five elements that according to Plato constituted our universe. To do this work I was inspired by Depero's tapestries, using soft-felt of different colour. This work belongs to a series entitled "Synthetic Worlds", in which are represented alternative worlds to reality.

A juggler, a street artist who throws and catches a number of balls in the air one after another, is a figure that we often see, we admire his skills, the movements he manages to perform with precision.

In this context he becomes the Great Architect and what he moves become the elements that make up us and our world.

Quest'opera appartiene ad una serie dal titolo "Synthetic Worlds", in cui sono rappresentati dei mondi alternativi alla realtà. 

Un giocoliere, un artista di strada lancia per aria delle palline, è una figura che vediamo spesso, ammiriamo la sua abilità, i movimenti che riesce ad eseguire con precisione.

In questo contesto egli diventa l'Architetto e ciò che muove, divengono gli elementi che costituiscono noi e il nostro mondo.

The Five Elements

"The Five Elements",

This work represents the five elements that according to Plato constituted our universe. To do this work I used coloured cotton thread hand-sewn on paper: magenta is the colour used for fire; black is used for earth, yellow is used for air, white is used for water and all this four colours are used for the fifth element, the aether. These colours were chosen for their alchemical bond with the elements. This work belongs to a series entitled "Synthetic Worlds", in which are represented alternative worlds to reality.

Questo lavoro rappresenta i cinque elementi che secondo Platone costituivano il nostro universo. Per fare questo lavoro ho usato del filo di cotone colorato cucito a mano su carta: il magenta è il colore usato per il fuoco; il nero è usato per la terra, il giallo per l'aria, il bianco per l'acqua e tutti questi quattro colori sono usati per il quinto elemento, l'etere. Questi colori sono stati scelti per il loro legame alchemico con gli elementi.
