Elvis Presley as Apollo

This site goes on vacation, I leave you with two works related to the figure of Elvis Presley. Just this year a film was released as a tribute to him. In these paintings he is represented as the god Apollo.

Questo sito va in vacanza, vi lascio con due opere legate alla figura di Elvis Presley. Proprio quest'anno è uscito un film in omaggio a lui. In questi dipinti è rappresentato come il dio Apollo.

"Apollo II" è una variazione di "Apollo I" e rappresenta il mito del dio solare Apollo che termina il suo volo diurno nel giardino delle Esperidi, dove si riposa durante la notte, mentre le tre sorelle danzano per mano. Apollo ha le sembianze di Elvis Presley, che viene rappresentato come dio della musica alla guida della sua BMW 507. Sul cinturino del suo orologio c'è un codice QR che può essere scansionato con il cellulare per ascoltare una melodia ispirata all'opera, realizzata al piano dall'artista. Questo lavoro appartiene alla serie intitolata "Way back into Soul", in cui sono rappresentati antichi miti in chiave moderna.

"Apollo II" is a variant of "Apollo I" and represents the myth of the solar god Apollo who ends his diurnal flight in the garden of the Hesperides, where he rests during the night, while the three sisters dance by the hand. Apollo has the appearance of Elvis Presley, who is represented as the god of music driving his BMW 507. A QR code is on the watch band, that you can scan with your smartphone to hear a melody inspired by the work, created on the piano by the artist. This work belongs to a series entitled "Way back into Soul", in which ancient myths are represented in a modern way.

Questo ritratto fa parte della serie ispirata a "I Ritratti dell'Inconscio", un'immagine introspettiva di quello che ognuno di noi rinchiude in sé, le proprie paure, angosce, debolezze che solitamente galleggiano in sospeso, assopite. Un giorno, per una qualsiasi causa, questo mondo sotterraneo che abbiamo tenuto lì come congelato nel tempo, può riemergere. Una volta fuori può crearci grandi turbamenti oppure se ci pensiamo bene il riconoscimento di questo lato del nostro essere che abitualmente preferiamo nascondere per comodità, quasi per pigrizia nei confronti della nostra volontà di pensare, ci può aiutare enormemente nella nostra crescita come uomini.

FIRST MAN INTO SPACE

This cycle of works was realized in memory of the first space flight of Jurij Gagarin, which dates back to April 12, 1961.

Charged with symbolic meaning, the works explore those suggestive regions of human consciousness on the threshold between reality and dream, or recollection of what "was, is and will be" (sort of eternal temporal contemporaneity), in a sometimes distorting relationship, to sometimes melancholic, sometimes sarcastic.

Questo ciclo di opere è stato realizzato in memoria del primo volo spaziale di Jurij Gagarin, che risale al 12 aprile 1961.
Cariche di significato simbolico, le opere esplorano quelle suggestive regioni della coscienza umana sulla soglia tra realtà e sogno, o il ricordo di ciò che "era, è e sarà" (una sorta di eterna contemporaneità temporale), in una relazione a volte distorta, a volte malinconica, a volte sarcastica.
